Our Why.

FIRE: Financial Independence Retire Early.

I had never heard the term “FIRE” until I met my husband. I was 25 years old and in my final year of law school. I was ready to finally graduate and enter the working world. My boyfriend at the time, David, who is now my husband, was five years into his career as a civil engineer. His friends made jokes about his obsession with investing. Little did I know at that time that my boyfriend’s interest in the stock market was the catalyst that would lead us both on an incredible journey towards financial independence. This blog is about that journey.

Over the years that David and I have known each other, we have pushed ourselves towards building our wealth. We have learned a lot on this journey so far, and we recognize that we have much more to learn. There is not merely one “right” way to gain financial independence. However, there are avenues that lead you there faster than others. We are not saying that we have the all the right answers, but we have some answers that we want to share with others.

We live in the best country in the world. There is an abundance of wealth to be had by those who work hard, stay diligent, are patient, and take action. If we can help even one other couple or individual reach financial independence, then sharing our story and our passion for investing is well-worth it.

We hope you enjoy joining us on our journey.

-Bailey & David

"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."
